Travelling to a beautiful area in Wavertree, our mission today was to set up a bedroom downstairs for Mr G to be able to return home. His kind neighbour had already moved quite a bit and simply needed the bed moving.
Following good chats with the neighbour, spreading the Goodgym word, we set to work, turning and pivoting the mattress and bed base down the stairs and into the front room. Pivot!!!
Mr G still has mobility to an extent and this will mean that he can remain independent.
Another task in the bag and a slick operation at that! Kudos to Leo who cycled there and back!!

This will allow Mr G to return home and be comfortable in a familiar living environment.

Despite the heavens opening and a torrential downpour shortly before the task was due to start, Leo and Mat persevered to help Mrs M. with her garden.
The front lawn was severely overgrown with brambles and weeds, and lawnmower out of commission due to the wet weather. Never mind, our two intrepid goodgym lads had come to lend a hand. So uprooted the overgrown garden 'mano a mano'.
Quote of the day: 'Some people find G-d, I found GoodGym'. Amen.

The wind blew and the rain fell but Goodgym mission runners, Leo and Pauline, didn't let that get in the way of their task. Cycling through the unseasonable weather, they jumped a train and biked the final stretch to reach the home of Mr and Mrs T.
A once beautiful and well tended garden had become overgrown and self seeded saplings threatened to take over.
Armed with loppers and secateuers, Leo tidied up Mrs T's favourite tree while Pauline took care of the saplings. Miraculously, the rain stopped just long enough for the job to be done...and within an hour, the green bin was filled.
Mr T, a double amputee, has missed being able to get out and enjoy his garden. He can now enjoy the view from his living room and, hopefully, weather permitting, get back outside to sit in the sun.

What a humbling experience yet again. Two intrepid Good Gymers, Leo and Mat, met the lovely Mr E, who cares for his largely bed-bound wife and needed help moving some plant pots so some building work could be done at the back of his house. Some time ago Mr E won a competition where he won a substantial amount of plants and so we had quite a few pots to move as they were covering the whole of the back garden. The job did not take that long but Mr E was not able to lift heavy objects and so it was impossible for him to do it. He is now able to get the builders in to replace his back window.
