Tower Hamlets Report written by Laura Williams
This was our first task with Ocean Youth Connexions (OYC), a Tower Hamlets-based provider of youth provision, over at their new base in E14, alongside Tower Hamlets Community Transport, a small charity based in Limehouse, set up to provide transport to voluntary and community groups in Tower Hamlets.
Kamal, tonight's task owner, greeted us with brand new equipment and a choice of jobs: outdoor gardening, or start the paint job?
The team opted for the outdoor clean-up.
We spread out all over the outside yard, pulling up weeds, chopping back branches, sweeping and bagging leaves, and collecting large amounts of rubbish.
The 'after' pic was certainly a stark contrast.
This was a brilliant start to our first task, here with OYC at the Community Transport Hub.
This clearing and decorating activity, both today and planned for the coming weeks, means that:
The Community Transport area will be ready for when services are up-and-running on a larger scale.
Both indoor and outdoor facilities have benefited from a bit of a makeover, enabling the organisations to focus on delivering services, existing and future.

Matt Endersby earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Matt completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Matt was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Summer's here!
...And so were a large group of Goodgymers to help Larry finish the final landscaping task at the Yurt.
Welcome to all those new to Tower Hamlets Goodgym! (Michael, Matt, Anna).
When we arrived there was a mound of gravel towering high to be spread over the rocky path.
We split into teams, shovelling the gravel into the barrows and raking in all directions to cover all the larger stones.
After an hour and a half we could see a smooth, beautiful gravel path leading all the way down to the monastery garden. Good effort team!
We also had our painting team,Lucinda and Victoria, who worked their magic with the brushes and painted the entire fence at the back of the garden.
Having smashed through our allocated tasks, many hands then made light work loading up the skip with panels and planks.
We definitely got a good workout in the sun! And it was great to see the Yurt garden space looking lovely for everyone to enjoy, thanks in part, to our efforts on this project over the last few months :-)"
