Another Mass gathering of GoodGym-ers yesterday!
We went the S. Andrew Church in Hove to help John with a deep cleaning of the church before the busy festive time. We welcomed Ruth with an exiting hoovering task, while most others got themselves busy with dusting off and waxing on the benches.
We could not stop Ben’s excitement with the that swiffer duster kit 😊.
It was great to see all GoodGym-ers for this last group-led sessions of 2024 in full xmas action.
2024 – What an year it was for GoodGym Brighton!
614 Good Deeds so far, and more than 6,500 km run by 75 GoodGym-ers! And, it’s not over yet.
Why don’t you join us on Saturday’s community mission at Burning the Clock and for our Social ParkRun in Preston Park!
We feel ready to welcome the 2025 GoodGym January Challenge!
Meanwhile, Merry Xmas everyone!
CONFORT & JOY S. Andrew Church warmly invites you to come and celebrate Christmas/

On a chill Tuesday evening the Brighton Good Gym team sallied forth.
Firstly a short exercise session led by Stefania. Warming up by running laps around Victoria Garden. Then lunges and high knees to keep the cold at bay. As a finisher we ran up the hill to Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project (BUCFP).
We were welcomed into the warm at the friendly BUCFP staff were and told about all their amazing work supporting families on low incomes, providing low cost laundry, benefit advice and free vegan meals.
The task was wrapping presents for their free raffle at the Christmas Party. Christmas music on Rosie's phone got us into the seasonal spirit. The gang made short shift of the task and was not defeated by a toy donkey and gremlin. They were on a roll and even had time to move some tables and chairs.
We finished up with some photos. Then it was a wrap!

“I change my behaviour” “Better in a group” “I have to plan a well-lit route” “Scared” “Goodgym helps to motivate me” “My superpower is fear” “No headphones” “Everyone should feel safe to run at night”
These are just some of the things we wrote on our #LetsLiftTheCurfew flag, as we joined This Girl Can’s campaign to raise awareness of the concerns and fears many women face when it comes to getting active in the darker months.
Together we ran one mile to meet local councillor Tim at our meeting point in Hanover, where we were put to task helping to clean up graffiti, cutting back bushes, and picking up litter. When our work was done, we gathered to reflect on how we feel when it comes to running in the dark. From feeling scared and self-aware, to planning safe routes and not wearing headphones - it was clear that the darker months can make keeping fit more challenging for some of us. However, we all agreed that running in groups like GoodGym really help to alleviate those fears, and we’re super grateful for the safe, friendly, and inclusive community we’ve made together.
