Wow!
A RECORD of 45 runners rocked up tonight, what a turnout!
We welcomed three new runners this week. Woop, hola and cheers for;
Thanks for coming along and hope to see you all on a run again soon!
This week was a brand new task to go and help out The Childrens Hospital Charity where one of our very own GG runners works, big thanks to Rachael for organising the task which this week was helping stuff bags ready for the charities Glow Run - see photos for discount entry code.
It was a very well welcomed indoor task tonight where we stuffed the bags that will be given to the runners of the Glow Run on finishing the race. The team got straight to it got the bags done in quicktime.
Everyone was having great fun filling the fun bags full of fun and the envelope team were really pushing the envelope!
Helen was feeling a bit big headed by the end...
On route back we snuck in some stair sets, partner high knee/wall sits and got back to base for stretching and beers.
Until next week, happy running!

Despite the damp weather the @GGSHEFF spirits were not as we headed out onto the Steel City Streets on route to Lynwood Gardens to continue with our work to help GORGEOUS GARETH of REGATHER fame with the ongoing work needed to keep the space usable and attractive for the local Kindergarten and local public who use the space.
On arrival we split into 2 teams and got straight to it;
On the way back we made a couple of brief pauses for the following;
Once back at base we stretched off and heard the latest including Serge's up and coming debut Sheffield drama performance, good luck Serge!
Until next time, happy running ;)

We welcomed new runner Keeleigh Scriven to tonight run, thanks for coming Keeleigh!
This week we were back off to the Picture House Social to do a mass white wash of one of the outside walls.
Chris and James were breaking bad and got together to make team tall and reach to the highest heights with the rollers.
Annie and Tom did a 'grate job'
Others brushed down the outside walls, to prep the wall for the brushers and rollers.
After a good 45mins of work, we were on a role and once we stood back you could really see the scale of what we had achieved in such a small space of time!
Once we had downed tools we headed home with a few fitness stops along the way inc lots of side steps, some sprints and a good measure of lunges before returning to base for some stretching and surprise guests...
This week we had some special visitors awaiting us in the Showroom including Lucy bearing fruit and bring us some apples from a previous task with Abundance as well as Sheffield's Lord Mayor MAGIC MAGID who wanted to swing by and say hello ahead of joining us on a run in the future.
We look forward to running with you soon MAGID.
Until next time, happy running! :)

I think political talk shouldn't be on the GoodGym agenda. Magid has a clear view on things, which I view as very wrong. I think GoodGym should remain neutral

Don't make a charity running club political, please!

Lord Mayor is also an unelected, ceremonial role. Smack me head. Yet he voices political opinions all the time, based on nowt.

WOW, just WOW!
On our 2nd birthday we had an amazing, incredible, unbelievable 41 runners rock up for the evenings task!
This week we had a slightly longer and hillier run to help Lucy from Abundance with their fantastic work of helping to collect apples that would otherwise go to waste in the city.
After a long hard slog up Cemetery road we met with Lucy who took us to a particularly big tree that was ripe for the picking.
We got a very thorough brief from Lucy re the process for the eve which involved;
The grand total was 128.5kg!
30kg were 1sts (fruit in good condition) of which 20kg went to the tree owner and 10kg was shared with Roshni Asian Community Centre and Learn For Life English Teaching Centre (both in the Highfield area of Sheff). The rest of the apples were shared with all volunteers, went towards their community juicing event at Feast In The Forest Fair and will be used for future chutney/juicing sessions and cooked at the Harvest Festival with New Roots, held at New Roots. Sat 3rd Nov.
Big congrats to Caroline for hitting 100 deeds and running with her wings and looking angelic.
Once all done we headed back to our friends at Regather for Birthday celebrations which included a lot of laughs, beers, great food and a massive cake! HUGE thanks to Kim and Steve for all their help bringing the party together!
Until next time, happy running :)
