Planking & Decorating

Ipswich Report written by Ipswich runner

Thankfully, the recent snow and bitter temperatures had made way for a milder evening in Ipswich.

I felt a little overdressed in base layers and leggings as I welcomed Goodgymers into the almost tropical Waterfront Building - I had packed my choice of running kit last night when it was still cold enough to scare brass monkeys.

It was great to have Robert and Jen along on their first Group Run - hope you enjoyed it and we'll see you again soon.

We headed off on a familiar route across Ipswich Town Centre to Castle Hill Community Centre where we had a painting task lined up, to complete a room we had started on a previous visit.

With good numbers in our group there weren't enough brushes and rollers for everyone to paint at the same time. We even asked for another job we could do to use up the additional manpower but with no joy...... So a genius planned was hatched!!

HIIT Relay Painting - The next big thing in fitness!

Part of the group were given 5 minutes to paint as much of the room as possible while the rest of the group did a core stability and balance circuit 30 secs on 30 secs recovery.......Then swap over. We managed 4 circuits before the room was almost complete - Boy did it get hot it that room!

What fun we had - everyone specially loved the plank variations and almost perfected the single leg running man stance!

Some of the taller guys were assigned to finishing off above a picture rail and the rest tidying up dust sheets before the room was complete and we headed for home.

A super group run and one of our longest distances - fantastic work everyone. Don't forget to practice the single leg balance when you brush your teeth tonight. :D

It would be lovely to see anyone who can make it and to have a big turnout for our link up with Kesgrave parkrun at this Saturday's Starter Session

Next week's task - if your not one of those jetting off to Australia or Las Vegas - is TBC but will be a shorter distance run details will be updated as soon as I have the details see the LINK
