4 Goodgymers met at Beer and Burger warmed up then jogged 3.2km to meet Katherine in Queens Park to deliver leaflets for Qpcc promoting their free summer festival for the community. We negotiated plenty of steps and letterboxes posting over two thirds of a trolley full of leaflets. Quite a few locals should be turning up. We jogged back, cooled down and had a quick refreshment. Good luck Sabina on your Italian travels. Good job Goodgymers.

Brent Report written by Tabitha Skinner
Introduction: On a hot and balmy Monday night, a dedicated group of volunteers gathered in Willesden to embark on a meaningful and fulfilling task organized by GoodGym. Tabitha, Josh, Karen, and Sabina came together, prepared and motivated, to make a positive impact in their community. Utilizing the assistance of AI, the team commenced their evening with a ten-minute warm-up session to get their bodies ready for the work ahead.
Once adequately warmed up, the team embarked on a 2.5-kilometer jog from Willesden to Clitterhouse FarmTheir destination was Clitterhouse Farm, a community garden that would benefit from their efforts and contribute to the preparation for the upcoming production of Twelfth Night on Friday.
Upon arrival at Clitterhouse Farm, Tabitha, Josh, Karen, and Sabina were greeted by Lee and Becka, the remaining GG Brent volunteers. Anika, their task leader, efficiently organized the various assignments, ensuring that there was plenty of work for everyone. The team split up and eagerly began tackling the different tasks assigned to them.
Some team members took hold of shovels and a barrow, spreading woodchip on the ground. Meanwhile, Pete and Sabina diligently focused on weeding the plant pots, ensuring that the plants had ample space to grow and thrive. Their attention to detail and commitment to the task contributed to the overall health and vibrancy of the garden. Karen, displaying her nurturing side, took charge of watering the plants in the greenhouse.
As the tasks neared completion, the team came together to line one of the garden paths with bricks, adding structure and defining the walkways. With the tasks successfully completed, the team took a moment to appreciate and celebrate their collective efforts. They gathered for a group photo, capturing the smiles and sense of accomplishment that radiated from each team member. Their dedication and hard work had made a tangible difference in the community, leaving behind a lasting impact.
As the sun began to set, the team bid farewell to Clitterhouse Farm and jogged back to Willesden. Sabina led the group with a satisfying stretching and cool down session, before finishing up with a well deserved drink

We split up into teams and delivered the leaflets . The leaflets contained local news and events
In total, we ran 8 km and delivered hundreds of leaflets to residents in the area. We left Queens Park feeling proud of our efforts and inspired to continue making a positive impact in our community. Stay tuned for more exciting adventures with Goodgym Brent!

On Monday we were taskless but still keen to keep fit. We met at Mencap, said hello, warmed up and got out on the road , running 3km to Queens park. Once there, Tabitha timed as the others ran the perimeter of the park...a full one mile run! Great effort from the group with Becka finishing in 7 mins 40! Pete and Sabina followed shortly behind.
We then jogged back (uphill) to Willesden, it was a lovely evening for a run, and we all felt better for getting out and on our feet .

Liz, Tabitha, Louise, Pete and Sabina all met by Papagayo Cafe at 6.45/7pm. Louise had come from East London to join GG Brent for the evening (hoping to build a shed and socialise).
We started with some warm up exercises. It was to be Liz's last session as an official resident of Brent and after several years as run leader, we want to say a huge 'thank you ' to her for her committment, leadership and friendship. It has been a lot of fun and we have done many tasks together helping the communities in Brent :-) (Although Liz will still be coming to Goodgym Brent when she can :-) )
We then ran to Abbey Community Centre and met up with Bekah and Lee, then went with the lovely Simone from the centre to the new building in order to build their shed for them. Unfortunately there was a communication mix up and the security guard did not know we were coming!
After much conversation he decided he would not let us in so we ran back to Papagayo Cafe, not downhearted and finished with drinks and pizza and a great goodbye and thanks and applause to Liz!
See you all next week or soon !
