Hackney Report written by Sally
A lovely crew of goodgymers gathered to carry on with the task of preparing the ground for a new hedge to be planted in the autumn. Also known as moving pig poo from the massive pile to the trench that had been cut & stones removed from. We had an interesting time with the wheelbarrows - one had a flat tyre, another one providing appropriate sound effects ;-)
It was great to see the farm animals growing up - the pigs, sheep and goats have grown up quite a bit. There were also crows catching rodents for their evening feast. Who said cities were sterile places??

Hackney Report written by Even Alin
Desperate to be out in the sun after biblical levels of rain, which we call the British Summer, the good-natured nutters from Hackney GC (and friends) were raring to help the lovely folk at Hackney Play's Pearson Street Adventure playground get their facilities ready for the busy summer holidays.
There was weeding; there was grass cutting; there was even an opportunity to use power tools - which was all very exciting.
After an hour of back-breaking work, haunched over pulling out tufts of grass and weeds, much progress was made, but we look forward to returning next week to do it all over again!
