Tonight, 11 GoodGymers celebrated the return of the lighter evenings! It's felt like a long winter, so spirits were high tonight.
We headed up to Stainbeck United Reformed Church to clear an area of brambles by the car park. We pruned, trimmed, brushed, litter picked & filled 3 huge sacks of debris. We could notice a huge difference when we left, well done team! Lydia got stuck into the brambles, picking all sorts of weird & wonderful things out including a car wheel, a radio & several items of clothing.
Helen took us on a magical mystery tour on the run back to Heart, encountering a bomb shelter & two horses who didn't bat an eyelid as we ran through their field. We must have made friends since last time!
Welcome to David who joined us this evening and Lyn who organised the session.
Great work team!

This evening, 12 GoodGymers came together to do a quick clean at Heart before using the space for our second group sound bath.
I'd like to thank everyone for helping me out with my training to become a sound bath practitioner. For two group case studies, I've had a very willing group of GoodGym members as participants:)
The space isn't ideal as there was some distractions so I would need a quieter space next time.
Lovely to see Tav visiting from GoodGym Colchester & it was also good to see some weekenders join us on a Wednesday too.
We finished off with a search for a phone and a drink in the bar where we talked about Jubz's new car...I even got a guided tour!

After several changes in task this week, 8 GoodGymers still got together to run around 4.5K and to litter pick around the Hyde Park Corner area. We filled 8 bags with Christian & Katie being the champions and filling theirs the fullest! Car wheels and dead squirrels were found along with many, many cigarette ends.
A few milestones were reached tonight; Jason completed his 35th good deed & Christian & Shannen both completed their 30th! Well done guys & keep up the good work.
Thanks to Helen for another great run.

Last night, 5 GoodGymers ran 2.5K to meet Beth at Community Streets to line and paint planters for their project to create the first Community Street in Leeds. We missed Helen and her expert knowledge of the streets of Headingley as we got slightly lost coming off the ridge, but we found it in the end thanks to Jason and Google maps.
It was nice to get there & it still be light...we're nearly into lighter GoodGym evenings!
At one point, Beth gave instructions about the ruts & I mistakenly thought she said rat, creating a moment of panic!
Good work everyone.

Tonight, 11 GoodGymers headed down to support the Ash Road Residents Association & the great work that they do in their local area.
We split into two groups, one group headed to the little garden besides the wood where we planted bulbs last year. The garden was somewhat winterfied (yes, I made up a word!) so we cleared all the leaves & dug around the borders to tidy it all up ready for spring.
The second group headed to the planters to sand them down ready for painting, which we'll do when the nights get lighter.
Well done all, it was a good team effort before our run back to Heart.
