Green-fingered Goodgymers Max, Michelle and Celine headed out to Grimesthorpe allotments to volunteer at the Green City Action allotment with allotment leader Sarah. After much admiring of the city views from the top of the plot, we literally got down to it: Max charged on with planting the chard; Michelle watered and weeded the sweetcorn and cucumbers; Celine weeded the climbing beans and cucumbers.

Green City Action Community Allotment
A beautiful community allotment where everybody is welcome to get involved with and learn more about growing organic food

We have carried out a wide range of environmental activities in the Burngreave area of Sheffield, including our community allotment which provides opportunities for people to learn more about growing organic food, gain hands on experience of maintaining an allotment, get involved in a community project and meet new people
