Fiver's to favours
So a huge thank you to my trusty 4 runners who turned out on a scorching August bank holiday Monday evening. This is true dedication to a worthy cause.
Gill, Roisin, Beth and Nick arrived at Splashpoint where the run set off promptly on the quickest route possible to get to our task on the border of Durrington and Goring on a scorching summer evening in sunny Worthing . Along the way detective and keen eyed Roisin spotted a fiver which she speedily scooped up like the fastest seagull you have ever seen to present to the group and offer up for ideas on how we could best rock the use of this in Worthing.
From Worthing to West Worthing to Durrington stations but we were never stationary
Blame Nick for this pun :)
Arriving sweaty but wealthy we arrived at Kamelia kids we set about our task.
There’s not much 'Ado to do!
Armed with traditional and not so traditional improvised tools (Gill!) we set about some weeding, digging, light pruning and virginia creeper (reaping). Have a look at the photos and see if you can see Gill checking into a possible previous life with a broomstick!
Out of the blue
Considering there wasn’t much to do we filled 6 blue bags with a variety of thistles, thorns, creepers, and weeds whilst plotting how to spend the fiver on the way home as Roisin generously offered to share her treasure!
Sunset Solero
The run back consisted of a steady run along the seafront combined with a sprint last 1km that clocked up a total of just shy of 9km.
With soleros, stretches, grapes and haribo swiftly demolished we chalked up another unique and awesome Worthing GG deed.
Thanks for making my smile brighter every week.
All the best.
Julia :)
