Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Madhan
I joined Shami when she was folding the tissue papers with cutleries. Emma asked me to arrange the bags into groups of ten and tie them up, so that it would make their lives easier when they make the grocery bags in the next shift.
We ran out of bands to hold the bags together. We improvised and made ropes using torn plastic bags. After having tea, we moved all the snack bags to the front.
Shami was tasked with writing the menu of the day. She managed to use all the markers and we had a debate on how to spell Daal. Is it Dhal
or Dhaal
or Daa
l? Shami chose Dhall
in the end.
By 5:40pm we covered all the setup. The food didn't arrive till 5:50pm. It was Daal and Rice today. Before the GoodGymers for the next shift arrives, I was helping out in the kitchen with the packaging.
Beat and Anuj arrived few minutes before the task time. They were placed on clothing sections. Once Kash showed up I handed over my food transport duty to her and left.
Ealing Soup Kitchen is a registered charity set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area. Nine local churches support our faith-based Soup Kitchen, which has been running since 1973.

I'm surprised Daal didn't make it to the pun! 😄

Hard to believe after ordering that dish, I hesitated. Really thought Dhal was correct but even Emma has a different spelling in her post 😀

Definitely feeling the arms today after hauling out the big bags of donations from the storage cupboard! 💪🏾 It was a bit sad to see less donations for the snack bags I filled up, compared to a few weeks ago 😔

Missed the opportunity on the Pun. It didn't strike me then 😄
