The sun shone on parkrun today - such a relief after this week's weather! Of course, it was always going to shine with a GoodGym task on the calendar!

Nicola volunteered as the Run Director today, and it almost seemed an easy role after a week of trying to recruit volunteers. Kat, Karen and Nigel were part of the cavalry to save the day - Kat as volunteer coordinator for the first time, and Karen and Nigel pairing up as timekeepers. Volunteers expertly coordinated by Kat, it was over to Nicola to deliver her warm and welcoming run briefing to the 322 participants. Today was Nigel's 250th volunteering day with parkrun - an AMAZING achievement, congratulations Nigel! - and started his role today with Karen once Nicola got the run underway. Fast forward an hour, and the last person clicked in across the finish line, it was time to close the event down and leave everything ready for next week, leaving no trace of parkrun being in the park - just a pop up community that appears every week at the same time. Tokens sorted and replaced, and results processed - all done!

All in all a very smooth event made possible by the volunteers, and Kat topped off the morning with a personal best time on the course - well done Kat!
