Kirsty, who walked, and Anne, who ran, met at the gate of Knaphill Lower School. We were a bit confused as there was no one who could give us any information about the Forest School site we had agreed to help clearing upโ€ฆ

But Kirsty being an โ€œold mumโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‰ of the school, guessed where we should go and bingo ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ , we joined a couple of families also aiming at the Forest School.

Vikki, from the PTA, welcomed us and gave us a tour of the area. There were two main jobs to achieve this morning: clearing the pond and raking all the leaves from the site; the aim being for it to be ready for the children to start Forest School sessions soon.

Off we went, armed with rakes, gloves and big builderโ€™s bags ๐Ÿงค๐Ÿงน๐Ÿงบ. Kirsty and I decided to concentrate on raking the leaves; helping with the pond involved jumping over a fence ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ, which, somehow, I did not fancy at all! The bags were promptly filled, and we deployed all our strengths to carry and empty them over to the waste area. We could have done with Wayneโ€™s muscles ๐Ÿ’ช this morning!

When more families came to the rescue, we decided to walk/run back to our respective homes. We might be asked to come again soon, as we were so good at it today! ๐Ÿ˜‡

Will you help at junior parkrun tomorrow morning?

Happy running, walking or cycling to you all!
