On a beautiful sunny morning, 6 GoodGymers met at Holgate allotments (not St Paul's allotment as I was initially going to go...thanks for correcting me Louise!). As part of the recent works in clearing the allotments GG have been involved with, they needed a large section of the allotment dug up and the weeds cleared. To break from usual tradition, they needed a section left so it could be used as an access path by the local school, so no mindless destruction on this task!

As always, we quickly got stuck in and after an hour we had all the bed dug up and a small path left for people to walk on. What a glorious way to spend a morning.

St Paul's Primary School Allotment
To clear the allotment plot to allow for the children to access forest schools and the allotment.

St Paul's Primary school would love to get forest schools up and running for the children. At our school we have very limited outdoor space available for the children. After multiple lockdowns, we would love to provide children with outdoor space within the community to grow and develop emotionally as well as with their learning. Holgate Allotment have been kind enough to allow us access to their carriageway garden and we would love some help to make it a space for the children as well as the community. The children at our school have always enjoyed being in nature and after the past year we would really like to give them a safe space within the community.
