The task that left us pa(i)nting for more…
Our second Richmond Green warm up of the year found us gamely trying to master more of Mark’s challenging stepping-while-running sequences (and generally failing miserably). Beginning to wonder if we shouldn’t ask Jenna to steal his collection of Monty Python so he can’t watch any more ministry of silly walks sketches…
Then a new training exercise, in which we split into groups and ran a circuit of the Green challenging each other to set a new faster pace by taking the lead in turns – a bit like cyclists in the velodrome. It definitely worked and many of us got back to the start point feeling a bit less excited about the 4km run ahead!

Off we went though, heading out into Twickers and as far as another green, where we peeled off to find the Richmond Music Trust where a little spot of painting was the order of the evening. A little spot… more like a huge room with brilliant bright blue walls! The place had been beautifully prepared by the Saturday warm-up missioners (thanks guys!) so we got stuck in straight away trays of white paint, working in ones, twos and threes to tackle different parts of the room.
It was a “roller” coaster of an evening, and we certainly did our best to give the task the “brush” off… but in the end we were defeated by the vast expanses of sky blue. As always though, we made a decent paint-spattered fist of it, so was not a 'White Wash' at all and as with many unfinished tasks there were many appeals to go back and finish the job.
All in all, another fun and frolicsome Monday evening with a strong run back we had to roll up with the Puns (and of course that part where everyone wants to write the run report). Finally warm welcomes this time to Sally and Arben on their first runs and looking forward to seeing you again soon!
The Richmond Music Trust offer a wide range of musical services to the community for so many abilities. It's great to be able to help support such wonderful works through our good efforts in any way we can even if it's 'Our very best Monet… for nothing' when it comes to painting we definitely get 'Our kicks for free' too! So stay tuned as there is talk of a return visit in a community mission capacity to get another coat on (So VERSE 3... or a CHORUS to be written maybe?)
Next week, Adventure waits for us - See you then!
