Look after your heart with a workout at the British Heart Foundation shop. They have a really fun task for us this evening - they want us to create a window display using all their donated sports equipment - tennis racquets, cricket bats, bats and balls… everything! They have it all!
They need volunteers to move everything down in the lift and then put it in position in the window to entice the shoppers to get a bargain. It's getting warmer and shoppers will be planning their summer holidays and trips to the park and beach and will need things to do.
Some of the equipment might be heavy so remember to bend your knees when lifting to look after your back. This task is perfect for a large group of us and is a perfect starter to get to know GoodGym if you haven't been before.
We will be meeting at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm and will run 2.5km to the British Heart Foundation shop on Eden Street. We will get there for approximately 7pm if you need to meet us there. We will be doing a 2.5km run back after the task ends. We also have a walking group so please join in if you have an injury or don't want to run this evening. It's a great starter group!
Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.
This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Rachel White by email at rachelwhite@goodgym.org.
The total distance of this group run is 5km.
Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
I am the area activator for Kingston Upon Thames. Keen to keep moving and improving.
