About this session

Back to help Care4Calais to sort their donations at their East London storage facility. They have donated items to distribute to people seeking asylum across East London, many of whom came to the UK with only the clothes they are wearing whilst fleeing war and persecution, from countries including Sudan, Syria and Eritrea. Sorting the storage is an essential task to enable them to do that and we're only too happy to be able to help!

Where to meet:

For our Group Runs, we're currently meeting at 18:45 at the Aquatics Centre - usually just inside the main entrance or the benches outside if the weather's good. If you're new to GoodGym or our group in Newham, look out for anyone in a red GoodGym top and come and say hello! We love to meet new people and welcome all running abilities - there is a backmarker on every task to make sure no one gets left behind. We'll set off at about 18:55 and the run to this task is about 2 miles each way. Note that there are toilets that we can use at the Aquatics Centre, but no bag drop facilities at the moment.

You are also welcome to meet us at the task - we should be there by 19:15 and the address is:

Plashet Road Nursery, Upton Centre E13 0QB - meet by the gate at the intersection of Claude Road and Daisy Parsons Court.

What to look out for

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us by email at newham@goodgym.org.

Options are available to run between 3km and 6km in total.

Remember that we will be running to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.
