11 GoodGymers got together this cold evening for a double task-Tuesday! Half the group helped sweeping up leaves in the Secret Garden in Newtown and the other half did a much needed litter-pick in the surrounding streets!

What a fantastic evening! We started with a fitness session for 6 of us Belmont Park, a socially distanced circuit session with some lovely Sally Squats to finish off with! Great work everyone!

We then moved over to our task location where we met the rest of the gang, including a GoodGym tourist from Bath! It was fab having you with us Jer, we hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and have some great days on the moors!

Also very exciting to celebrate that our very own "Spaniel", Lucy R, has reached 50 good deeds! What a star! I think you've been out picking litter more than anyone else in Exeter. Thank you for the chocolate and glow sticks too.

After the shout-outs and saftey briefing was over we split up into two teams with one heading to the Secret Garden to sweep up leaves and the other to do a much needed litter-pick.

Pat, who runs the Secret Garden, a lovely strip of land which used to be covered in long grass but now is a lush and beautiful little garden that can be enjoyed by local residents and school children, was so happy that we came to help out! Not only did we sweep up all the leaves, we also carried water in watering cans from one water barrel to another in order to facilitate watering of the garden.

The litter-pickers also did a fab job! In 45 minutes they filled 6 bin liners. Jo and Lucy R got so carried away that they forgot about time and place and contined picking litter longer than anyone else. Good thing really as the rest of us just had to do some Sally Squats (again) to keep warm whilst waiting for them to return.

It felt a little emotional saying good-bye to you all with lockdown starting in a couple of days. You guys have been such stars over the last few months, turning up no matter the weather, always getting stuck in at any task and giving it all you got, spreading such positive vibes in the community!

Keep the spirits high, keep in touch on the WhatsApp group, keep self-logging your good deeds and I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope it won't be that long till we can meet up in a group again!
