Battersea Park, low council tax, great pubs and - of course - GoodGym! These, we decided, were our favourite things about Wandsworth last night.

There were lots of other great things to celebrate too. Like welcoming our fantastic new runners, Brian and Amy who joined us for their first group run tonight. Don't they deserve a cheer?

We also had a very special landmark to shout about too. Our lovely task forcer Jack, who has been coming to GoodGym Wandsworth since its very first day, completed his 100th good last night. Yes, that's a whole century of good deeds and missions, and a massive load of commitment to making Wandsworth a better place. Well done Jack, a fantastic achievement.

After a quick warm up, much needed given the chill in the air, we set off for Wendelsworth community garden. This is an area we have spent a lot of time working on. Martin, the head gardener, is really committed to making the space a great place for residents who don't have a private garden to enjoy. Our task for the night was to clear the gardens of the carpet of leaves, and to move piles of the stuff to the newly built leaf pens.

We split into groups of twos and threes straight away, thanks to the work Martin had done to get the place ready for our arrival, and got to work. Half an hour later the lawns were clear, the pens were full and we were ready for our fitness session, so we made for Wandsworth Common.

This week was a session on form and technique designed to improve our running style, making us more efficient and less prone to injury. We thought about pocket to socket, helium balloons, landing underneath our body and keeping our torso nice and straight. After all that the group was running like Olympic athletes, so all that was left was to plank for a minute, which everybody managed. Great work, team.

After a nice fast run back to the BAC, we stretched out the night's work, and went to the bar to toast Jack with his favourite (sports) drink, 100 plus.

Next week we've got a slightly longer run to the amazing Work and Play scrapstore, but we'll take it nice and steady and there's an option to take public transport at least part of the way back. Great running last night GG WW!
