Monday 23rd September
Report written by Kash
At tonight's Ealing Soup Kitchen hub, Sevan and Kash took over from Shami, who had come earlier to prepare Salvation Army for the 6 pm takeaway service for the homeless and other vulnerable people.
The GoodGymers were in charge of both men's and women's clothes sections and distributed the toiletries, donated in containers of rather modest size, alongside outfits.
Although the packing-up of the clothes had commenced earlier today, Sevan and Kash left later than usual as, after the service, Emma and the team were mocking up the table setup for the special evening meal for homeless 50 clients planned for the 2nd of October.
The GoodGymers had the pleasure of seeing the bunting and drawstring bags they had made for the ESK with Ealing Repair Cafe over the last few weeks. The next day GoodGym Ealing is having another collab with Mary from Ealing Repair Cafe to make more goodies for the Soup Kitchen clients: draught excluders! Join us tomorrow!
Ealing Soup Kitchen is a registered charity set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area. Nine local churches support our faith-based Soup Kitchen, which has been running since 1973.
