18 amazing runners ran 4km to help spread the word about the hospice carol concert!

Great turnout last night everyone! Especially for such a windy and grim evening! Nice work! We were joined by one newcomer, the lovely Rebekah who usually runs with GG Camden, welcome Rebekah!

Rock, paper, scissors... on steroids!

We headed out for our warm up including a total disaster of a game of team rock, paper, scissors! After a few rounds and lots of people acting out being a sheet of paper I think we were ready to set off!

The task last night was a flyering task to spread the word about a lovely carol concert which is actually taking place at the Old Royal Naval College on 1st December. It is all to raise money for the Greenwich & Bexley hospice whom we have helped on numerous occasions and will help them provide the support to local people with terminal illness and their families this Christmas. If anyone is interested in attending, all the information is here!

We split into two groups. Ben took a group up towards Maze Hill and hit the roads around there whilst my group targetted the area around Greenwich station. We did a few streets to start off with and then came across a bunch of flats which had the letterboxes outside in groups of about 30.... JACKPOT!!! So we managed to get rid of all our leaflets in about 15 minutes which left us with the rest of the time to enjoy a nice run along the river while we waited for the others!

Time for core!

The others arrived back a little after 8 o'clock which gave us time to get a good core session in. We did 3 sets of 30 seconds on a few different exercises, all targetting different parts of the core followed by a few partner exercises to really finish off those abs! We finished off with a nice relaxing stretch on the grass and called it a night!

No team photo!!! :(

Sadly it wasn't until half of the group had gone that I realised I had somehow forgotten to take a group photo last night, so please accept my apologies and for the general lack of photos yesterday come to think of it! Next week we'll get some good ones!

Christmas party!!!

Just a quick note about our Christmas get together... this will be taking place on Friday 8th December. Please let myself or Alex know if you can make it on the Facebook group or email us at sarah@goodgym.org or alex.j.murtough@gmail.com. We would love to have as many of you there as possible!

Starter session this Saturday!

Also one more thing, I am running a starter session this weekend in Greenwich aimed at beginner runners, so if you or anyone you know is interested then please come along! There is going to be one a month for the next 4 months. Starting location is slightly different to normal. All the info is here.

Great work with the flyering last night, we managed to clear near enough all the leaflets and there were LOADS there so hopefully the concert will be getting a good turn out :) See you next week!
