Global Gardens again? That's two weeks in a row! Yes yes but Poppy stepped up when we needed her, after our planned task in another part of the city was cancelled at the 11th hour

With the forecast saying it was raining, but with the sun in the sky, seven goodgymers met, trying not to jinx themselves and mention the 'r' word.

First stop was to the polytunnel to water the tomatoes and squashes. There's going to be a bumper crop soon if the masses of green toms take on a nice shade of red

The group then split into two. Grp 1 (Michelle, Nicholas and Karolina) cleared a patch of weeds and brambles from the entrance area and sowed some grass seed to try and combat the pesky bind weed. Grp 2 (Michael, Emily, Llion and Nathan) headed to familiar territory to tackle the brambles that have surrounded the young Hazel trees. Goodgym gloves are great, but if the almost expletives heard sporadically are anything to go by, the worst of thorns were still getting through to delicate fingers.

With 5 minutes to go, the 'r' word finally arrived. A mad scramble ensued as the tools were packed up and the piles of brambles moved to a far away corner of the allotment.

"see you again next week" the goodgymers joked with Poppy. (they will in fact see her again next week as GGC&V head to global gardens again for a task arranged weeks ago!)
