Let’s have a Recap
Last night 21 runners ran 5km in total to the the community hub of Peckham Festival. After warming up our squats we set off on a scenic route zig-zaging 3km across Peckham Rye, taking in the early evening sunset. We arrived at Copeland Road to meet Lisa, head of the festivals volunteer operation. Finding out that the heavy lifting of boxes had already been completed before our arrival - I think I heard the word phew! We were given piles of posters in varying sizes and rolls of tape to display as many as we could in our 30 minutes. As I stayed put, 4 teams split off in different directions to all corners of Rye Lane, returning back to me empty handed eager to post some more!
Frog walking hit the streets of Peckham
In order to allow enough time for everyone to arrive back in one place we began a 2 team relay practicing our hand overs of rolled up batons. Everyone demonstrated their squatting technique while traveling surprisingly quick! We returned with a further 2km making a loop towards Nunhead and back round to Old Spike.
FACT OF THE DAY Frida Kahlo is known as one of Mexico's greatest artists. But few people know her first paintings after she was severely injured in a bus accident, were of her feet! - Thanks Nat whose classroom bears Frida's name.
Next week we will be running 8km in total taking a route around Peckham and Camberwell with our new Flag! Followed by food and drink! Sign up here
See you next week Team. Chin up!
