Civ Sivakumaran earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Civ completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Civ was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Last night 13 runners joined our Fitness & Social session in the rain!
It was my last session before moving house and relocating to Norwich! So in order to see each other in person safely, we held our session in a large open area in Burgess Park keeping to a safe distance in groups of 6!
The exercise theme I'd chosen this week was 15-1. We worked our way through 15 exercises starting with 15 reps for the first exercise, and finishing with 1 rep for the last exercise...a 1 minute plank!
Despite the rain coming down we managed to find shelter under some large trees, and with a few added layers we enjoyed a drink and a chance to catch up and say goodbye - in person!
Thanks so much to everyone for joining the session, it was so lovely to see you all and give you a wave or elbow pump! Although it is always sad saying goodbye, its much nicer knowing we will still continue to see each in our weekly online fitness sessions. And as soon as it is a safe to run in groups and races again, I will be back to visit and see as many of you possible!

This week 5runners took part in our weekly online Fitness Session and social.
The theme for our chosen exercises was based on Martial Arts training. I've been watching a few kung fu movies lately which inspired the idea!
So we worked through 15 minutes of drills including squats, kicks and core work, before testing out our balance on each leg trying not to put the other foot down! A great workout for the glutes and stabilising muscles in the hip.
After the fitness session we caught up on all the things we have missed recently, especially a love of singing!

Tonight 8 runners joined in our online fitness session. And with the temperature reaching 30 degrees it was guaranteed to be a sweaty session!
We were all feeling the heat this week, whether indoors, on a balcony or in a garden. But it didn't stop us pushing towards our limit! I chose 5 exercises that we repeated for 3 rounds. Working the full body with jumps, squats, press ups, abs and planks, we each set ourselves a challenge by counting our reps, and trying to repeat the same number in the second and third rounds. Easier said than done!
We had a great team sweat, ready for dinner! See you again next week team!

This week 16 runners took part in our online Fitness session and catch up. And we were joined by GoodGym friends all over, including Lucy J up in Sheffield.
As well as giving ourselves a speedy workout, we got together to celebrate the achievements of our fantastic members this week!
Paulin passed her 50th Good Deed this week, after joining Southwark from Bristol last year...well done!! And one of our longest serving runners Dom completed his 400th Good Deed this week, in only 4 years as a member, that is a fantastic achievement!!
We had a lovely catch up sharing stories of favourite tasks and funny GoodGym experiences, and look forward to being able to celebrate in closer proximity once it is safe to do so!

Last night 8 runners joined our online Fitness session for an Animal themed workout.
Re-enacting the jungle book we were swinging monkeys, crouching tigers and crawling like bears. It was a warm humid evening, and we quickly broke into a sweat! The 12 animal moves included stretching elements and mobility exercises creating an all over full body work out.
It was great to see a few returning members and have a chance to share stories of running in dark!
