Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Not sure about you guys, but I was pretty chuffed to see the end of January...and embrace the 1st of Feb with you fine running specimens.
A record turnout for GG Newham (from 14 to 15). Considering we were missing several regulars, that's bloody great. Things are looking uber positive in Stratford - healthy numbers, fresh community tasks, getting light back soon, regular monthly park runs/socials and some pretty damn cool people. Onwards we roll.
This week's random question created some very funny answers, "something very embarrassing that's happened to you?". From falling out a nightbus, being booted out a club, stapling your flies shut, faceplanting while running (love slapstick), falling into a river, being on a drunk and disorderly programme...and much much more. Excellent insights.
We ran the mile over to Mobile Garden City, helping Pro Bike Service, a new and mobile community bike workshop...with free repairs for all, and classes too. Some large planks/boards needed shifting, 24 in total. Fortunately with our bolstered record numbers, this was done in under 15mins. Heavy lifting and team work - tick. I can almost hear your muscles growing.
I managed to smash my phone camera on a padlock, almost as soon as we arrived. It has created a peculiar and permanent 'filter'. Luckily Angela came to the rescue and lent me her phone. So when she pings over the photos, I'll upload them to the report. In the meantime, enjoy these planks in weird places pics (plus one educational snap).
Once we finished up, we headed back to Olympic Park and finished the session with some serious core sculpting. 5 plank variations to strengthen the corset of muscles around your abdomen. CORE WORK. Some tremendous efforts...character building stuff.
This Saturday is Parkrun at Hackney Marshes. I'm going to pop it on the website then on facebook and whatssapp. So do sign up.
Have a corking week and rack up some meditative miles. Also send me some ideas for next week's random question....mine will only get worse.
Ps. Jo and Violeta...i owe you some laces for bringing a friend!
Have a goody
