Running in the sun is just the best, and we lucked out in Hounslow last night with a gorgeous warm summer evening session.

We also had an extra bonus in the form of Rob who joined us for his very first GoodGym run. Give him a cheer!

A very well done to Dave who continued his epic park run tourism tour on Saturday. Nice running!

After some warm up exercises which were arguably unnecessary since we were already boiling, we set off for Friends of Cathja, a wonderful charity which supports local people with long term mental health problems and offers a creative outlet. We've got an ongoing relationship with this charity, and we are helping them to clear their enormous warehouse of donations over time.

It was just under a four kilometre run to get there, which we did pretty quickly - I think we're shaving off some time each week, gang. Maybe it was all that vitamin D pumping into our skin on the way?

We were greeted by Bruce, the furry guardian of the shop who we still haven't managed to win over. We'll keep trying though. We were taken through to the back of the shop where we were given the task of clearing an area so there was access to the back yard. First we got rid of the piles of bags full of clothing, then tackled the big stuff. Ovens, wardrobes, tables and cupboards were no match for Team Hounslow, and we soon shifted the lot and made a nice space for more storage.

Job done, we set off for home. Dave took us on a lovely scenic route by the river, where we debated or whether or not we would live on a boat. Although people drinking beer on a sunlit deck did make it look very appealing, and apparently you don't have to pay for a tv licence if you live on a boat (thanks for the tip, Claudia!), we decided we couldn't hack it in winter. With all the pretty scenery, we made it to Waterman's Park in what felt like no time, and stopped off for a little fitness session that included a loooot of sprints. And some planking, but not for youthful Rob. Lucky!

With a slightly quicker pace we made our way back to the Town Hall, and finished off the run with some nice stretches. Well done, team, cracking effort. Looking forward to seeing you next Wednesday for some more GG fun. You can sign up here.
