Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
34 runners did a long run and a short run that ultimately ended in digging
A brilliant turn out on another cold Lambeth evening. A smaller group headed off to Agnes Riley gardens, a solid 2 miles each way, to turn over some clay ready to plant wheat. I know, right? It's going in Brixton Windmill. They were provided with torches and hoes. And Robbie dug a trench. To drain the puddle in the middle.
I worked really hard to dig a trench. To drain the puddle in the middle. Said Robbie
The rest of the gang ran all of 200 metres to Pop Brixton, where they are creating a small 'farm' of plants and herbs that will be used by traders. They will also hold classes for people in the community to learn to garden. We shifted loads of pongy manure into plant beds and then planted lots of mini plants into plant pots. Tom got watering and the job was a good 'un.
Rebecca, meanwhile, sat at home playing dog or muffin, sloth or pain au chocolat. See if you can tell from the photos above.
Nice one for coming out tonight - we made a massive difference and shall be rewarded with warm weather soon!
