Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
26 runners ran to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park to get rid of loads of Ivy, followed by a quick and tough hills sessions in Mile End
We welcomed 7 new runners tonight, Yangki, Roger, Shilva, Alexa, Joel, Lina and Matt
After a quick introduction to GoodGym and then a quick warmup to prepare our 2.5k run towards the Cemetery, all the group was in safe hands with our Coach Runner Rep Alison doing the backmarking. #NoOneLeftBehind
we split in smaller groups to start to get the Ivy from graves or trees
Once we arrived at the cemetary the first task was to find the gloves hidden in an already made pile of Ivy, then after everyone got their own pair of gloves we split into smaller groups to start to get the Ivy from graves or trees and making the pile even bigger. Good thing some of us had some head torches and massive thank to Ken Hoye, Chelmsford trainer who gave us his bat light, but with the help of the flash of some phones everyone had a bit of light! After 30 min of hard work we started to pack gloves again and get ready for a hills session in Mile End park!
Hills, lovely Hills, or for us a bridge not massive but enough to get a good workout
Hills, lovely Hills, or for us a bridge not massive but enough to get a good workout. We reviewed the important point of running uphills, be tall with high hips and try to extend all the pushing legs with a triple extension of hips, knee and ankle. After few up and downs and a final race, we then headed back to to the start point with a lovely run by the canal, followed by a nice and social drink in the pub.
What Lina say about last night:
I really enjoyed yesterday's experience! I had too much fun even if I was scared of finding spiders in the cemetery hahah. I enjoyed my run with everybody! Thank you for the pictures!!
