SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Bristol runner
In this episode of SAS, the GoodGym runners were faced with some tough terrain whilst litter hunting. While mud is usually the biggest challenge whilst moving along the riverbanks safely, this time a wall of thick greenery had to be conquered which made moving and litter-picking an almost impossible task. Yet, all GoodGymmers proofed their brave spirits by plunging into the waist-deep grass (and thankfully not the river!) and still managed to collect an impressive amount of rubbish. The jungle-like environment seemed to evoke some wild instincts in some of the runners who used the green coverage to use a strategy of hide and ambush to catch particularly small pieces of rubbish.
Phill was unanimously voted winner of this mission. Not only did he show great expertise in the litter pick combat, he also earned his stripes collecting 100 good deeds with this mission and thereby finally making it into the circle of centurians (although he still needs to wear the costume on his next official outing!).
Congrats Phill and thanks for the cake!
Also great thanks to Mark from SAS who made this mission happen and for wheeling a huge load of rubbish back to the collection point.
Credits to Mel and Darren who provided us with litter pickers and bin bags.
And last but not least, a big congratulations to everyone else attending the task!
