Over the years we have gained significant trust, confidence and credibility in Luton, and work alongside a diverse array of agencies, organisations and community groups in matters relating to community cohesion. LCoF delivers a number of community events and initiatives including, but not exclusive to, the Annual Luton Peace Walk, musical concerts, public discussions, recreational sport projects, conservation work, public vigils and much much more. LCoF operates with four main aims: 1) To bring together members of the different faith communities in Luton for deeper dialogue and cooperation. 2) To increase understanding and trust between different faiths, building on common ground between them yet respecting the unique contribution which each brings. 3) To work towards greater social cohesion and community integration in Luton. 4) To see inter faith cooperation as linking into global cooperation between faiths and cultures for the creation of a better world.

Meet by 13:30 at Zakaria Mosque front car park.

The walk finishes at 5:30pm.

Luton Peace Walk is an annual event to promote community cohesion and celebrate diversity in our town. It was a very successful and inspiring event last year when several GoodGymers helped out with marshalling, making sure that walker young and old were kept safely to the pavements, and making sure that everyone could cross the roads safely.

We have been asked by Luton Council of Faiths if we can support them again this year. There will be participants from across the town from all and no faiths, including children from the local schools.

The walk will start with drinks and snacks at Lewsey Christian Centre. We will then walk with the group taking in Lewsey Zakariya Mosque, St Martin DePorres Catholic Church, St Hughes C of E Church and Shree Sanatan Seva Samaj Hindu temple. The route will be decided nearer the time.

There will be refreshments (food and drinks) and goodies at all the places visited.

We will be walking with the Luton Peace Walk to help ensure people are supported in crossing the roads safely and get to the different venues as a group. The walk starts at 1:45 but we have been asked to be there from 1.30 to collect Hi Vis jackets and be briefed. The walk is scheduled to finish by 5:30pm.

There will be free parking available for those arriving by car with further to travel. You are also encouraged to come by bike or other active modes of travel, public transport or even car share.

Please sign up in good time so that we can let the organisers know how many of us there will be helping.
