Luton Report written by Martin R
This evening 5 Luton Goodgymers supported the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat temple with the 5 instalment of their cooking classes, helping the Gudwara to bring communities together and teach new friends, new skills. There was lots of cooking, scrubbing, serving, tidying and a little bit of community interaction as we tasted the delights that were prepared. Well done team, great effort as ever 👏 👍🏻 👌 💪

Another fun afternoon and evening at FoodCycle today - and it was Faith's first time helping at this project. We hope she enjoyed the session as much as the three regulars did.
Gill was on the early shift as she had helped with the food collection and was on hand to open up the hall and get things started. With lots of part baked bread and frozen pastry she started on prepping the crostini for some crispy bruschetta and then got busy rolling out the pastry for 5 large quiches.
Next on the scene was Martin, who joined in the kitchen team alongside the other FoodCycle regulars and there was soon a hive of industry to prepare the tomatoes and salad for the starter, and the roasted veg for the couscous accompaniment to the quiche.
Omar, who had answered a late call for additional volunteers to host the session arrived, and was a whiz at serving the volunteers with pre-service fruit snacks before getting joining the other hosts with serving our guests and clearing up afterwards.
Finally, Faith arrived and was soon elbow deep in a sink full of suds as she had offered to take on the vital role of pot washer today, and was an absolute godsend as she cleaned up the cooking posts and all the dishes and cutlery from the meal. "It was my first time at FoodCycle and I really enjoyed it." she said.
There was lots of positive feedback again from the guests who really enjoyed the meal. Well done team. Another fabulous meal.

As 2 Goodgymers helped with the final day of the Breakfast Battery Boxes Easter Holiday project, the volunteer community organisation have shared a message of thanks. Community Thanks : Breakfast Battery Boxes We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredibly dedicated GoodGym volunteers for their generous support in providing breakfast parcels to families facing difficult times. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to support with essential food items to many households, helping ensure that children and parents alike started their days with a nutritious meal. Your donations, time, and effort have made a real difference, reminding us all of the strength and compassion within our community. Together, we’ve shown that a small act of care can go a long way. Thank you for standing with us and with those in need.
Thank you to the BBB team xx

Martin R completed an epic 500 good deeds with GoodGym.
Say what? Martin is a Legend and enters the echelons of GoodGym folklore. 500 good deeds is an off-the-chart amount of good. It's enough good to reach the moon and back. Help Martin celebrate their legendary status.

A great turn out from the Goodgym Massive to support the cooking and feasting at the Shri Guru Ravidass Sangat temple.
Everyone got stuck in welcoming the other groups attending; cooking, preparing, serving and cleaning up, helping to bring different community groups together and learn dome culinary skills too!
We also celebrated with the legend that is Martin as he completed his 500th Goodgym task earlier in the evening...a hats off to a monster milestone!
A fantastic feast served up with extra portions to take home...yum!

What an absolute legend this man is, and it was fabulous for two of us Goodgymers to work alongside with him as he completed his 500th GoodGym task. He really should be crowned Jung of Luton GoodGym. It was a busy Foodcycle tonight but Martin was full of his usual enthusiasm and good humour which always lifts our spirits. He made a regal soup and the crowning glory was his assembly of the fruit crumbles. We can’t wait to see him wearing his GoodGym 500 shirt to match the cake!
