Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Katie Welford
After a last minute task cancellation, we were in luck, as our lovely home Papa's Park needed some leaf clearing and toy checking. After a nice warm up, some people checked toys in the playground and made two groups: Excellent, good toys and Bad, broken toys.
The rest of the gang got on with brushing and scooping up leaves, with Steve finding ever more inventive ways to collect them, the best being a giant blue leaf sing (patent pending). After 15-minutes of tidying, Papa's was looking good and we set off in search of hills. Lambeth is fairly flat but there's some nice inclines coming up from Battersea to Claphma Common. We did a good 15-minutes hill reps, using the downward slope for recovery and pushing uphill to increase our strength and endurance. People went at their own pace and everyone did at least THREE efforts, with some reaching many more than that. TOP WORK LAMBETH!
We jogged back to base and enjoyed some of Ruth's ginger biscuits as a belated Bake Off offering, before we retired to the pub for a nice pint and chat to end the night.
The youth centre provides a space for young people to hang out, play games and socialise.
