Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
18 runners head to St. Mark's Primary School to paint a pirate ship fence and 15 more head to Vauxhall Foodbank to do their stocktake
It was a mild November evening and a huge crowd gathered at Papa's Park ready to do some running. We awarded November's Shit Prize of the Month (SPOTM) which this month was actually quite a good prize. Lovely John from the Portico has given us free tickets to the pirate ceilidh and Latin-inspired Mambista over the next couple of weeks. The brilliant Judy Reid won for once again being on the leaderboard for the most miles this month, new runner Freyja for getting all over twitter and cheers after her first ever run and all round good guy Tom Hunter for being an ace member of my task force, for diving into the race team and for being on track for 50 good deeds by Christmas. WELL DONE GANG!
We had two runs, both around 2.5km each way down by the Oval cricket ground. Old favourites Vauxhall Foodbank needed help with their bi-annual stocktake. This involved taking everything off the shelves and taking it through for the big weigh in. Big news from the Foodbank is that FAITH IS BACK! She went off for a few months over the summer and we missed her. Welcome back Faith.
The rest went to a new task, the brilliant St. Mark's Primary School, where an amazing adventure playground has been set up. We needed to paint the wood of a vegetable garden pirate ship - it looks absoultely brilliant and the school were thrilled. We hope the kids enjoy their adventures.
We had a lovely run back to base, some stretches and then off home happy with our work.
