Making cutbacks
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the St Christopher's Fellowship in Richmond.
- Saturday, 25th of June 2022
- Led by Sam Jones
Another bright Saturday morning made for the perfect start to the weekend and a GG community mission, and we were back at St. Christopher's for Round 2 following our efforts in the back garden over the Jubilee weekend.
We were welcomed by Daniel and later Bev. This time we were asked to have a go at the front garden, and the main jobs were to cut back the hedges and overgrown bushes and sweep up the leaves on the drive. There were six of us there and we welcomed back Gaurang who had made his GG debut the last time we were there.
We got going on the work with shears and a rake and broken-handled broom. Chris took care of the front hedge while JP and Gaurang started on the biggest bushes in the garden, making good progress before we enquired about the better hedge trimmer and then progress got even faster. Monika and Jack started on sweeping. We swapped tasks from time to time and chatted all the way, stopping for a welcome tea and coffee break about halfway through our time there.
We finished off around 11:30 and headed up to Duck Pond market for coffee before heading off for the rest of our Saturday, satisfied with the work we had done.
