We returned for round two to support Mencap which is a brilliant local charity which supports adults with a learning disability, their families and carers. Their garden space has become very overgrown during the lockdown period and has been in need of some care and attention. Anita joined us from Richmond to lend us her tools and expertise which was greatly appreciated. Rob got stuck into some mowing and tried not to mown when it wasn't going too smoothly and Martel kindly took over. With a comedy sketch of errors, poor Rachel had some bad luck with a broom handle snapping off the top and then the bristles snapping in two pieces! Jane, Laura and i managed to clear some weed growing between the concrete slabs. Charlotte was relieved to find a worthy home for some cakes by the time weed packed up. It was a successful session and Michelle from Mencap was pleased with all that we had accomplished.
