Volunteers needed for West London Queer Project's 5th birthday

The West London Queer Project (WLQP) is a non-profit driven by the desire to connect, support and give voice to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and other sexual and gender identifying (LGBTQ+) people in West London. The organisation aims to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people in West London and beyond. They put on events, offer a safe space, a welcoming, supportive and safe environment to uplift, empower, and connect as well as advocacy, awareness-raising and change making activities among local policy-makers.

The organisation turns 5 and are celebrating the milestone with a special party. They are looking for volunteers who’d like to help out on the day.

The street party will be in Chiswick (along where the regular Sunday markets take place) and so there are road closures in place, stages set up for performers and pop up bars along the street.

In terms of volunteering, they expect things to be very busy and are looking for as many as possible available to be onsite marshals/stewards to help direct the flow of people etc, or to be onsite marshals hand to alert security or the organising team if there is anything that needs to be looked into or followed up on.
