GoodGym X Slow Ways: Walking task surveying paths from Richmond to Ealing Broadway
Helping to create a pedestrian-friendly map of the UK
Location
Richmond StationThe Quadrant

TW9 2ND
Date and time
10:30 - 12:30THIS IS A WALKING TASK
This task is to help with providing information for a national route mapping project called "Slow Ways". The objective of the website is to offer safe and accessible walking routes for every corner of the UK and beyond- prioritising pedestrian friendly paths over "point A to point B" routes.
Find out about the Slow Ways mapping project here
https://beta.slowways.org/Page/about
We are signed up to help with a few of these, this one starts in Richmond and ends in Ealing Broadway. Approximately 7km.
Full details are here: https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Riceal/9089
The task will be to walk, review, take photos for the Slow Ways website, report any safety issues or access problems, so that those who take the path after you know what to expect. Please note that as these routes are being checked, they won't all currently be appropriate for wheelchair-users, bringing dogs on or for those with visual impairments. Part of the job will be to report back on whether this route is suitable or not. So far this route has been reported step-free and with drop kerbs throughout.
The meeting point is at Richmond Station, just under the awning to stay out of any rain!
