The Met Police, Here East and Pro Bike service CIC (friend of Goodgym) have joined forces to give unrecoverable bikes to victims of bike crime from our frontline NHS. CIC have donated over 250 hours of time from their bike workshops to get the bikes road-worthy and ready to be rehomed. A true community effort that we delighted to get involved with.

We were greeted by Kirsty from Here East and Laurence from Pro Bikes who were just meeting with the last of the NHS staff who had come down to collect a bike. They were doing their best to match people with a bike similar to the one they’d had taken. Like matchmaking but with bicycles :) They had managed to pair up 70 bikes with new owners on day one! We took the opportunity to catch up with fellow Goodgymers (at a safe distance) whilst we waited for instruction. We then helped the end of day bike clear up by moving them from the front of Here East to the storage unit ready for another day of bike-matching with NHS hero’s. We also packed up the chairs, tables, signage and gazebos. A quick and easy task for us but a big help to Here East who were grateful for our efforts!
