The lovely Beki from York Council met us at Hob Moor with some brand new litter pickers and gloves. We were very excited (ie easily pleased). We split into 2 groups of 4, armed with our litter pickers and green bags. I went with the Hob Moor crew and started hunting for litter around the perimeter whilst the other crew went across the road to the children's play area. Whilst David wandered across the middle, Katie soon found some 'interesting' finds, including a wellie, a strange shaped bottle and a plastic cracker and cheese. I found a couple of large bits of a bicycle - the front forks and then a crank shaft. I wondered if I would soon have enough to build a new bike to cycle home! Laura's haul included a heavy piece of clothing and lots of glass bottles. We met back up with the others after an hour and were pleased to find that nothing had been thrown at anyone this evening, just a "delightful" young girl who had deliberately dropped some litter in front of them! Apparently there was some ceilidh dancing and Amy found part of a scooter. We had a socially distanced selfie with our 10 bags of rubbish before going our separate ways home.
