Report written by Derby runner
Gwyn and Tracey, with the aid of an A-Z and a sat-nav, negotiated a maze of streets in an unfamiliar area of Derby to deliver meals prepared and donated by a hardworking set of people from the Derby West Indian Community Association.
As on our previous mission, we were given an amazingly warm welcome at the community centre, followed by our grand tour, meeting some very cheerful and appreciative people, who were provided with a delicious dish of salmon and vegetables, followed by fresh fruit and a drink.
The car got more exercise than we did during the mission, but we enjoyed a 7k walk together earier that day.
Debry West Indian community Association is a community hub centred in the middle of Derby. We are currently Delivering hot meals to the most vulnerable in Debry, but we really need your help! if you can spare an hour or two per week please get in touch today.
