Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nick Moore
Mrs E's carer was naturally suspicious when two masked men arrived at her front door saying they had come to move some furniture - but after a quick doorstep negotiation via Mrs E's daughter on the phone, the carer let us in to liberate the three chairs/sofas in her living room - needing to be moved so that Mrs E could get a hospital bed installed.
Andrew and I demonstrated our GG furniture shifting experience by deciding to move the smallest first so we could work out what combination of twists and rolls would be required to get through the various doors - noting the remaining chairs were increasingly larger in size...it proved a sensible move.
Mission success was improved immeasurably when we met a kindly fellow resident downstairs who showed us the way to the bin area, but then said he could lend us a key to the (golden...) padlock on the entry gate outside, and so make our journey from Mrs E's flat to bin store much easier by avoiding the corridors.
Sofa 2 proved painless - Sofa 3 less so when we discovered it had frames attached to raise it from the floor which would need to be removed, along with the wooden feet, if we were to stand any chance of getting it out of the flat - the trusty multitool came to good use and we soon had everything removed, into the lift and out to join the others.
Mrs E's carer, who'd been watching us closely dismantle the sofa (it transpired she'd finished her shift so was keen to get home!) followed us down with the frames we'd left behind. A lock of the padlock back on the gate, return of the golden key to the friendly resident and with that the story was complete for another day.

Excellent report Nick! Thanks again for being so organised and having your trusty multitool with you, it really saved the mission.
