Report written by Chelmsford runner
On a cool and dry summer evening seven runners met up at the river near to one of our favourite GoodGym haunts; Interact, to do a spot of litter picking as it does seem to be a bit neglected round there. After hundreds of parking tickets and 50 beer cans I was beginning to wonder what I was going to write about in the mission report, it was all seeming a bit low key.
Thankfully Rich and Andy stumbled upon a rather rusty looking trolley in the bushes, try as they might their litter pickers just couldn’t quite budge it for some reason. Joel immediately sprung out with the pun (thanks Joel), the mission report was beginning to write itself, things were on the up.
But oh, did things take a slightly sinister turn as our next big find was a rather large knife stashed away in the bushes. After phoning 101 we were advised to take it to the station the next day, so right now I have lovely memento of our evening on my hallway floor, lucky me. I’d like to think we’ve potentially stopped someone from being stabbed and maybe even saved a life, all in a day’s work for GoodGymers!! Well done everyone, great litter picking!!

Wow, what a turn of events towards the end of that report! Kudos to you all for what you've potentially averted through simply turning up to do good
