Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Today I used my morning break to help Mrs R in her garden. She has a glorious back garden and some space at the front and sides that she's growing all sorts of amazing plants. She struggles with her mobility so is grateful for some help.
She had been given some left over materials from a neighbour that she repurposed (which I love) to use to fence off her garden spot in the communal area. I love how resourceful she is as everything we used had already been used before including the bamboo sticks and her wire ties.
We checked the gates would fit, then it was hammer time. Apparently my hammering wasn't good enough which made me laugh as she asked a neighbour passing to give the posts the final whack. This was all good though as it helped the process.
Afterwards she showed me her garden, explaining every plant to me, and kindly gave me some fresh mint from her garden too.
She also was super grateful to Alex who had previously planted seeds and helped her created a bedded enclosed space as the seeds were now coming up!
It was a lovely mission and I'd be glad to go and support her again. She's keen to plant some mangetout and other peas, plus other bits.
Cycle home, past the gorgeous Hanwell Community Centre and back to work.
