With a late afternoon mission cancelled, Madhan and Kash ran South from Greenford to collect litter pickers and throw a spontaneous litterpicking party in the heart of West Ealing. The sun was up, but the wind was getting stronger, bringing ominous stormy clouds.
Highlights:
- The wind was our ally. It swept all the litter into one spot for collection.
- The wind was our adversary. It blew at our bin bags and we struggled to put anything inside when they were still quite empty.
- Halfway through the litter pick, the heavens opened and we hid under a tree where we found scattered pieces of various kinds of bread.
- When clearing the bread area, we listened to a heated monologue of a pigeon-phobic resident.
- We collected 4 bags of quality litter like cake boxes, bottles and cans.
- Madhan found an unopened beer can by the bench in Dean Gardens. We had a debate about whether it was litter or not. You can check if the bottle is still on the bench.
