Monday Ealing Soup Kitchen takeaway service and 2 goodgymers Madhan and Steph joined the 1st shift. Whilst we were waiting for the delivery from City Harvest London, we had tea and we had the chance to have a candidate from the X Factor : one of the homeless ladies who normally comes and sings to all of us. We started by getting the tables ready, clothes section by sizes and getting the exact number of bags ready for the grocery and snacks. Steph brought some spare bags as there are never enough as need 80bags for the snacks and 45 for the cooking/home bags. As not enough, bags were purchased from the local Lidl. Once Marvin from City Harvest London arrived with the food, all the volunteers helped and we rushed to get all the bags ready as the van arrived later than planned. Marvin was welcomed by the singing lady and her love songs. Love is in the air .We cracked on and we even had time to spare. Opened the doors and Madhan helped at the clothing section and Steph was managing the side door. Kash and Sevan arrived for the 2nd shift and took over from Madhan and Steph.
Ealing Soup Kitchen is a registered charity set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area. Nine local churches support our faith-based Soup Kitchen, which has been running since 1973.
