The morning was a little fresher than we’ve been used to in recent weeks, with mist hanging over the tree tops. We made our way deeper in the Ham Lands than usual, tasked with clearing a section by the trees of brambles and other plant matter.

It was a good bunch with a collection of Richmond regulars and Freya, Zoe and Craig from Kingston. Armed with rakes and loppers the team got stuck in and soon enough there were piles of plant matter gathering alongside the path.

We only had one large canvas bag this time so it filled up pretty quickly, ready to be dragged by a team of Bag Ladies or Bag Men (or a mixture!) into the undergrowth to be emptied out.

It was lots of fun as usual, even if by the end our focus was waning as we were all ready for a trip to the Swiss bakery for a hard-earned cheesy reward!

Next up will be 6th November - link to sign up coming soon!
