Today's mission contained multiple tasks. Followed by the Fare Share van's arrival, all of us helped offload donated food: loads of boxes and containers. Back and forwards between the van and the church became equivalent of a very good gym workout. Especially well done to Richard for carrying 2x 25kg suck of potatoes in one go! Afterwards, the tasks were mainly to sort them out. Katie and Laura made a list of the donated food, disposing the expired food in the fridge. Richard and Mayuko trimmed vegetables to make them sellable. A nice and cool midday at St George the Martyr.

Borough Food Cooperative

The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare, the Borough Food Cooperative acts as a subsidized supermarket, offering members to stop in and pick up £15-£20 worth of groceries for £4.50. The Cooperative is open during lockdown to provide essential supplies to local households
