Report written by Antonio (he/him)
GoodGym members Beattie, Rachel, Moya, Ruslan and me, took on a unique and exciting mission to support their local charity, the Phoenix Cinema. With a touch of creativity and pun-filled humor, they affectionately dubbed it the "Barbenheimer" mission, celebrating the diverse films screened, including the much talked about Barbie and Oppenheimer films. Alongside leaflet delivery, this adventure encompassed a 5K run, a shorter fartlek run and a short yoga cooldown at Cherry tree Wood, making it a fun experience for all.
There were also moments of sheer confusion followed by delight, when, whilst running around the forested area of Cherry Tree Wood, a 10-year old jet-black Labrador Retriever, seen hobbling along in his old age on one side of Cherry Tree Wood, darted out 8 years younger at the other end. Such speed and elegance, leaving Antonio wondering if he himself had emerged out of that area also a few years younger. It was not to be, as the second black Labrador, was exactly that: another (much yonger) Labrador, cunning resemblance though. The experience, left us all feeling a spring in our step, so we embarked on a short series of Fartlek reps, followed by a gentle yoga stretch/cool down. We returned to the Phoenix Cinema, bringing the session to its conclusion. Can you spot the black Labrador on one of the pictures? Thanks everyone!
