Report written by JP
After a day of driving rain and cold it was a surprisingly pleasant Monday evening as we met up outside the Tap Tavern for our weekly dose of doing good. Unfortunately we were missing Sam our cheery Area Activator, but Jack stepped in admirably to take us through our paces.
We started with a light jog to the opposite side of Richmond Green, where we did squats and jumping jacks before a lap of the green. We then did 3 sets of 10 dips and press-ups to get the upper body muscles working, before heading off along the river to our destination in the woods of Petersham.
We found Ken with his bike full of tools and set off to three different work stops. First, we dropped Jack and Kane to dig a deep hole to install a no cycling sign at the bottom of the pathway near the traffic lights. Then we walked up the path behind the Star & Garter and dropped Adam, Monika and Susan to plant bluebell bulbs, and finally Ken, Sam and JP got to work on moving the pile of branches left from a previous task in November to a less conspicuous place round the side of the building.
All the groups made excellent progress on the tasks and we were satisfied with our work as the light died and we headed back to meet by the hole Jack and Kane had dug - fully 63cm deep! - before putting Jack in the hole and posing for a group pic.
