Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sam Ollason
It was a sunny Tuesday evening and 5 GoodGym runners went to help out at Bath Organic Group. We filled wheelbarrows full of bark chipping and distributed it around their orchard to redefine the path among the trees. Jer did a fantastic job evenly distributing it - a work of art! As well as making the route around the trees clearer and safer the improved path also makes the area feel more cultivated.
Another task we did while were there was to pull up bindweed that had been growing all around the compost area. This was safely disposed off away from where it can spread its tendrils!
We finished off the evening with some very fresh apple juice. The apples were picked from the orchard 2 weeks ago and pressed last week. Delicious! We will be returning on 11th August again to help the team at Bath Organic Group.
Bath Organic Group, or BOG, was set up in 1986 to promote sustainable, local food production and organic gardening in and around Bath.
